Some ideas are planned. Others simply show up.

While shaping the bag and watching how the strap moves, its curves began to draw H,O,Y.
A coincidence that felt right.

Hoy means today in Spanish. It speaks to presence, to creating from intuition rather than overthinking. The object comes first. Meaning is left open rather than imposed.

Welcome to the world of imagination.

Title

Tinto is energy and earth. It is the first cup of the morning, the conversation at midday, and the quiet boost that accompanies the rhythm of the day. It represents the abundance of the coffee region, the silent strength of steady work, and the fertility of the land that sustains everything.

It is serious, direct, and stimulating. Its presence is firm, masculine, and grounded, yet also familiar and everyday. Tinto is habit, identity, and the essence of a region shaped by aroma, mountains, and tradition.

Untitled, Narváez (my father), Circa 1990

The artwork on this first edition comes from a vision I had during a Yagé ceremony. My grandmothers appeared young and vital—symbols of memory, continuity, and inner youth.

The gladiolus represents remembrance and victory, and the moth symbolizes the transformation required to bring this project into the world. A change that continues, always moving toward light.
