LIFE FOLLOWS IMAGINATION
The name Productos de la Imaginación (PDLI) comes from a desire to work from intuition rather than from rigid concepts or theoretical structures. For me, creativity grows from conscious and unconscious ideas that mix, shift, distort, and form themselves without needing explanation. Some of these ideas cannot be named, but they can be made real.
PDLI is the materialization of dreams, visions, intuition, and instinct. In PDLI, anything that can exist is allowed to exist.
Our work is to bring these ideas into the physical world—turning them into objects of contemplation, admiration, use, and disuse.
Each product begins as a thought or a blurry form that appears in the mind.
From there, we find how to make it real and how to materialize those moments of pure imagination.
A PERSONAL NOTE
PDLI, and Hoy in particular, is a story that has been more than three and a half years in the making. A process shaped by the search for the right partner to achieve the form, structure, and finishes I had envisioned from the beginning. Much of the delay came from the level of precision and finesse we wanted to reach — and I’m happy to say that we finally did. What for a long time felt like an endless wait now reveals itself as the right moment and the perfect opportunity.
The first prototype of the Hoy bag was developed in August 2022 in Itagüí, Colombia. Since then, the project has evolved slowly, through testing, mistakes, and adjustments.
The execution of this project — and everything you see here — has been carried out by me and my partner, and financed through family loans. My business partner has been ChatGPT (yes, really), through which I’ve learned about negotiating with factories and suppliers, logistics, importation, shipping, programming, and website development. The list goes on, but the most important things I’ve learned throughout this process are patience and perseverance.
Special thanks to Hannah for pointing me in the right direction, and to Sam for helping make this possible across the globe. And thank you to my parents, friends, and family who continued to believe, even after all these years.
Welcome to Productos de la Imaginación.
